Abalone

Abalone (or ; via Spanish, from Rumsen aulón ) is a common name for any of a group of small to very large marine gastropod molluscs in the family Haliotidae. The majority of abalone have not been rated for conservation status. Those that have been reviewed tend to show that the abalone in general is an animal that is declining in numbers, and will need protection throughout the globe.
