Abdul Latif Jameel is a family-owned diversified business founded in Saudi Arabia in 1945 (J-WAFS) at MIT was created to conduct research aimed at preventing shortage of food and water due to climate change and population growth. In 2015, a program for the commercialization of this research was formed.
