Hi again Chris!
I updated the operating system a short while ago and after that the php-files are not looking as they should. When you try to open them in a web browser almost all of the files are showing a text that begins like this: . * * END LICENSE * * Do you know why and what you need to do to fix it?
Best regards
Richard

Sounds like PHP hasn't been enabled yet in your version of Apache. The command to enable it is:
sudo a2enmod php7.0

Thanks Chris!
Unfortunately it did not work. It could be another version than 7.0.
I think that it would be easier to try to work this out over Skype. Is it possible for you to login later today or tonight? If you have time for a chat or phone call it would be great, I will be online anyway.
Best regards
Richard

Hi Chris!
It seems like I have PHP 5.
Have you been logged in on Skype yet? I have not seen you there in a while?
Please let me know when you are able to have a chat regarding this. We could use iMessage or Viber if you prefer that.
I will by the way make a smaller donation to you tomorrow.
Best regards
Richard

Hi Richard,
As I have limited bandwidth and I am writing this software on the side of my real job for fun, I am not offering install or consulting services anymore. Maybe in the future I will train someone to do installs and then announce it here. My suggestion as to what the problem is still stands for php 5, you just need to enable the php module in apache. You can either use a2enmod to do this or locate the LoadModule line in the apache config file for php and uncomment it.
Best,
Chris

Hi Chris!
I have installed php 7.0 instead and I am able to open the php files now and they look alright. I think it could be very close to be working like it should and I have a php file called test_search.php and when that file is working it should all be ok I think.
I have been working with this for around a year now and the php file has been working most of the time until now. I have purchased equipment, services etc. for a fair amount of money so I really have to get this to work again.
I respect that you have other things to do. At the same time, I know that you are good at this and I do not really know anyone else that can answer these kind of questions. If you have any recommendations please let me know. :)
Best regards
Richard

Hi again Chris!
This was strange... I transfered the money to you like I mentioned but the status for the payment is Unclaimed. You are still using the same account, right? The money was just a small contribution even if you are not able to solve this.
Best regards
Richard

Hi Richard,
I am going to try to train someone to do these maintenance things in the not too distant future. In the meantime I should be able to look at it on Sunday. I think the Paypal thing is probably a new procedure for money from international sources. I haven't claimed it yet because I am not sure I will have time to look at it. If you send in an email the info. I'll try to look on Sunday.
Best, Chris
